Portland indie-rock outfit Alien Boy have announced an intimate acoustic LP titled Rearrange My Mind, arriving October 16 through Get Better Records. The release reinterprets selections from the band's discography using raw four-track home recordings while introducing new songs and a cover of Pavement's "Spit on a Stranger".
Known for the expansive, fuzz-drenched guitars of their 2025 record You Wanna Fade?, Alien Boy trade distortion for Elliott Smith-inspired intimacy. Frontperson Sonia Weber worked alongside guitarist Caleb Misclevitz and producer Evan Mersky at Red Lantern Studio to craft the warm, tape-saturated arrangements.
The project was conceived after an acoustic radio broadcast revealed how naturally their melodies translate without heavy production. Advance tracks include new ballad "Now Yr Calling Me Baby" and their delicate Pavement interpretation.
Alien Boy will support the release with international tour dates across North America and Europe, including appearances in Rotterdam later this autumn. Explore more acoustic reinterpretations in our news archive.
