Angine de Poitrine invade UK television and win Shania Twain’s hair approval

Angine de Poitrine’s UK TV debut is the kind of music news that sounds like someone invented it after eating too much backstage cheese, which is exactly why it belongs in an indie digest. The enigmatic Quebec prog-rock duo appeared on Later... with Jools Holland and performed Sarniezz and Fabienk from their April album Vol. II. The real twist is that Shania Twain was also on the episode and apparently already knew the band through her son Eja. She even admired Khn de Poitrine’s yellow yarn hair, while Jools Holland was corrected on the duo’s alleged age: 333 years old, not 300. This is what television should be for: odd bands, baffled legends, private mythologies leaking into public broadcast and the happy reminder that weirdness can still travel across borders with excellent hair.
