APACALDA brings dark psychedelic indie-pop intimacy to Montreal songwriter round

APACALDA appears at Petit Campus in Montreal on 11 May as part of an intimate songwriter-round format inspired by Nashville traditions. The project of Montreal-based singer and composer Cassandra Angheluta, APACALDA blends goth-tinged indie pop, dark psychedelia and electronic textures into a moody alternative sound.

Her 2025 debut full-length There’s A Shadow In My Room and It Isn’t Mine helped establish her as one of Montreal’s more atmospheric emerging voices. The songwriter-round setting is especially fitting because it strips away some of the usual performance architecture.
