Bloc Party announce Anatomy of a Brief Romance and share Coming on Strong

Bloc Party returned to the news cycle on 12 May with the announcement of Anatomy of a Brief Romance, their first album since 2022’s Alpha Games. Produced by Trevor Horn, the record is set to arrive through Contagious Ltd., a newly launched Virgin Music Group imprint, and arrives after several years in which the band revisited the legacy of Silent Alarm for its 20th anniversary.

The first taste, Coming on Strong, places the new era in a very personal frame. Kele Okereke has said the album was written after the end of a relationship of more than ten years, and that the lyrics draw directly from lived experience.
