The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has revealed that his recent creative resurgence is considerably more extensive than fans previously realised. During an October 17 performance at Bristol Beacon, Flowers introduced an unreleased composition titled "A Good Man Is Hard to Find" and confirmed that another solo album is expected in 2027. The development was reported on October 18 and 19, providing an unexpected update just two months after the release of his country-influenced solo record Thrasher.

Flowers explained that his recent recording sessions in Nashville had been particularly productive, resulting in enough material to complete two separate albums. The newly premiered composition takes its title from a celebrated short story by American author Flannery O'Connor, whose work has inspired numerous musicians exploring themes of morality, faith and human imperfection. Flowers is not the first songwriter to draw inspiration from O'Connor's distinctive literary universe, but his increasing interest in American storytelling traditions makes the connection particularly appropriate.

The Bristol concert also featured a cover of "Dreaming of You" by Liverpool indie-rock band The Coral. That selection provided an interesting contrast with the country-oriented direction of his latest solo material. Flowers has spent much of his career combining British alternative-rock influences with an unmistakably American approach to melody and theatrical presentation. His forthcoming recordings appear likely to continue that transatlantic exploration.

No official title or precise release date has been announced for the 2027 album. Apparently Nashville proved so creatively productive that Flowers accidentally made twice as much music as originally intended. There are considerably worse problems for a songwriter to encounter.
