Chalk say Get F*cked and let Kettama put fresh electricity into the wires

Chalk’s Get F*cked arrives on 2 July with the kind of title that does not need much editorial translation. The Belfast trio’s first new music since their debut album Crystalpunk finds them working with Irish producer Kettama, who gives the track a new charge after it missed the album deadline and sat unfinished. That backstory is useful because the song sounds like it came back from the bench angry. Chalk already sit in a volatile space between post-punk, industrial pulse, electronic pressure and live-band physicality, so Kettama’s involvement makes sense as a way to push the demo into something more direct and less polite. With major festival dates, a big Electric Ballroom headline show and IDLES support in Belfast ahead, Get F*cked feels less like a leftover and more like a threat with better lighting.
