24 July 2026 – Charli XCX Turns Pop Into ‘Music, Fashion, Film’

<a href="/tags/charli-xcx">Charli XCX</a> releases ‘Music, Fashion, Film’, an album that treats the three industries in its title less like separate creative departments and more like guests arriving at the same extremely expensive party. Singles including ‘Camera’, ‘Wink Wink’, ‘Rock Music’ and ‘SS26’ have introduced a world concerned with image, performance and the strange emotional exhaustion of being constantly observed. The project follows the cultural explosion surrounding ‘Brat’, but it avoids simply repainting that album and hoping nobody notices. Instead, Charli leans further into the relationship between pop music and the machinery that surrounds it: cameras, clothing, celebrity, filmmaking and the constant need to turn life into material.
