Bristol musician Josh Jarman, previously known for his work with Langkamer, has announced Eventually, the debut album from his solo project Classic Trucks. The record arrives February 4, 2027, through independent label Breakfast Records, accompanied by the newly released single "Bird Underwater" featuring Mumble Tide. Jarman describes the song as an exploration of loving somebody who feels emotionally or physically distant, drawing inspiration from the storytelling traditions of Lucinda Williams and Jason Molina.

The forthcoming album examines the uncertainties associated with developing an artistic identity during adulthood, particularly the strange experience of pursuing creative ambitions while carrying the responsibilities and anxieties that accumulate with age. Its musical influences include Neutral Milk Hotel, Bill Callahan, Songs: Ohia, and Sparklehorse.

Additional collaborators include Getdown Services, Flora Hibberd, and Naima Bock, suggesting a record connected to several interesting corners of contemporary British independent music. The ten-track collection includes "Getting Out", "One Foot in the Bardo", "Sea Mills Lane", "Shadow Stay With Me", and the title track. Classic Trucks will perform several British concerts ahead of the album's release, including appearances in London and Bristol during November and December.

The project offers another example of musicians using solo recordings to explore ideas that might not fit comfortably within their established bands. Eventually is an especially appropriate album title for somebody examining the complications of becoming an artist in their thirties. Independent music careers rarely follow a predictable timetable, and the creative process has an unfortunate habit of ignoring conventional expectations about when adulthood is supposed to become organised.
