New York indie-rock musician Computerwife has unveiled "Hammered", a new single accompanied by a music video, providing another preview of her forthcoming second album Born From a Wish. The record arrives on November 6 through Danger Collective, bringing an extended period of writing and recording to its conclusion. Computerwife is the musical project of Addie Warnke, whose approach combines bedroom-pop intimacy with distorted alternative-rock guitars and an interest in the uncomfortable territory between digital existence and ordinary human relationships.

Born From a Wish has been approximately three years in development and contains eleven compositions exploring isolation, heartbreak and self-discovery. The new single follows the project's established combination of direct emotional songwriting and arrangements that balance melodic accessibility with rougher guitar textures. Kenneth Neighbors directed, filmed and edited the accompanying video. The album includes "Nobody", "Pretty/Ugly", "Normal", "Hammered", "Honey", "Foreverrr", "Thank You", "Surreal", "Oh no I threw up", "Autopsy" and "You Didn't Know".

Computerwife will support the release with an extensive North American tour beginning in Boston on November 4. Further performances include Brooklyn, Toronto, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Denver, Portland and Seattle. The November 6 Brooklyn concert at Warsaw coincides with the album's release date. Computerwife's development demonstrates how musicians associated with bedroom production can expand their arrangements without abandoning the emotional directness that originally attracted listeners.

Born From a Wish promises a more ambitious presentation of Warnke's songwriting while retaining the personality that distinguishes the project from conventional alternative pop. Apparently three years of creative development can produce something considerably more interesting than another folder containing unfinished demos and increasingly confusing filenames.
