25 July 2026 – Daphni Asks Whether You ‘hav u a sec’

Dan Snaith's dancefloor-focused alter ego <a href="/tags/daphni">Daphni</a> has surprise-released ‘hav u a sec’, a three-track EP containing the title song, ‘Tally’ and ‘Forward’. Across approximately ten minutes, Snaith turns clipped vocal fragments, bright synthesizers and tightly wound percussion into music that feels both immediately functional and pleasantly peculiar. These are tracks designed to move bodies, but they contain enough odd detail to keep the brain involved in the negotiations.

‘Tally’ is compact and restless, while ‘Forward’ carries exactly the sort of momentum promised by its title. The EP follows ‘Butterfly’ and arrives after the new material was tested during live sets, proving once again that Daphni’s quality-control department consists largely of placing a song in front of several hundred moving people and observing whether the floor survives.
