14 October 2026 – Demonstration of Power Announce In the Name Of... and Prepare a Scottish Hardcore Assault

Glasgow hardcore band hardcore punk heavyweights Demonstration of Power have announced their debut full-length album In the Name Of..., scheduled for October 28 through Northern Unrest. The announcement arrives alongside two newly released album recordings, "Spirit Inherited" and the title track.

The group have developed a formidable reputation within Scotland's increasingly active hardcore scene, particularly through live performances characterised by aggressive instrumentation and extraordinary physical energy. Frontman Shaun Alexander has become known for an intense stage presence, helping establish the band as a memorable attraction at international hardcore events.

Demonstration of Power previously released demos, singles and collaborative recordings, but the forthcoming album represents their first complete full-length statement. The ten-track collection includes "Behind the Scenes", "Crimson Reign", "Self Abandons Self", "Left to Wander", "Idol Lies" and "Solid Bonds". Earlier versions of the two newly released songs appeared on a promotional minidisc, while the forthcoming album presents their completed studio arrangements. The recordings emphasise heavy guitar riffs, forceful percussion and uncompromising vocal delivery.

Northern Unrest has become an important platform for Scottish hardcore musicians, supporting a scene that continues attracting international attention. Demonstration of Power represent its more physically confrontational side, creating music that seems designed specifically to test the structural integrity of concert venues. The album arrives later this month, giving listeners a relatively short period to prepare. Ear protection is recommended, although protective equipment for the living-room furniture may also prove useful. Find more intense releases in our metal and punk hub.
