30 September 2026 – Dental Plan Find No Solution and Decide to Release It Live Anyway

Melbourne indie-punk outfit Dental Plan have released a live version of "No Solution" today, their first newly issued music since debut album Raw Nerve, and an advance taste of an upcoming live album. Punk bands and live records make natural companions because excessive tidiness rather defeats the purpose. "No Solution" benefits from precisely that lack of studio sterilisation, capturing the urgency, volume and slightly dangerous edges that often explain a band's appeal more accurately than a meticulously assembled recording ever could.

Dental Plan emerged from Melbourne's fertile punk and indie underground with a sound built around sharp guitars, melodic aggression and the sense that everybody involved would prefer the song to begin immediately rather than wait through an atmospheric introduction. The live treatment consequently feels less like a novelty version and more like the track being returned to its natural habitat.

More significantly, it opens the campaign for a full live release, giving listeners who discovered the band through Raw Nerve an opportunity to hear how those songs behave when there are actual bodies in front of the amplifiers. Plenty of live albums spend enormous effort removing all evidence that a concert happened. Dental Plan seem considerably more interested in preserving the mess.
