British electronic virtuoso Felix Manuel, performing as Djrum, has released his anticipated entry into the long-running DJ-Kicks mix series via !K7 Records. Renowned for weaving effortlessly between jungle, ambient soundscapes, modern classical orchestration, and low-end bass architecture, Manuel delivers a masterclass in turntablism.
The set features exclusive new material from underground heavyweights Skee Mask and Clark, alongside four original compositions from Djrum himself. The tracklist also traverses adventurous selections from Venetian Snares, Susumu Yokota, post-punk outfit The Raincoats, and wildlife field recordist Chris Watson.
Crucially, Manuel performed the entire compilation live on vinyl turntables before fine-tuning and layering textures during studio post-production, capturing both tactile spontaneity and cinematic depth.
Following his acclaimed LP Under Tangled Silence and EP I Wander, this DJ-Kicks edition cements Djrum's standing as one of the UK underground's most visionary architects. Check out more mix features in our news archive.
