Dogstar go All In Now and make the comeback feel real

Dogstar could easily have been treated as a novelty forever: yes, that is Keanu Reeves on bass, yes, the internet will continue to mention it, and yes, every headline writer has probably already made the same joke. But All In Now, released on 29 May via Dillon Street Records, asks to be heard as a real band record rather than a celebrity side quest. The trio of Bret Domrose, Robert Mailhouse and Reeves returned after a long break with 2023’s Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, and this new album continues that second chapter with a clearer sense of momentum. The appeal is straightforward alternative rock: guitars, emotional directness and the sound of musicians who seem genuinely happy to be in the room together. That sincerity matters. In an age where so many reunions feel like brand extensions, Dogstar’s current run feels refreshingly human.
