Dutch composer and producer Andert Tysma has released his third full-length album, Parallels, via Apollo Records, the legendary ambient and electronic sub-label of R&S Records. The seven-track collection follows 2022's Children of Trinoom and 2024's Hana.

Tysma marries acoustic grand piano, analog modular synthesizers, and chamber strings to construct deeply evocative meditations on memory and transformation. Having supported Yann Tiersen and recorded at Berlin's Funkhaus, Tysma composed portions of Parallels in the former residence of Dutch minimalist icon Simeon ten Holt, whose meditative spirit ripples throughout.

Remarkably, Tysma balances his musical craft with a parallel career as a practising medical doctor, providing an apt real-world reflection of the album's title. Collaborators on the record include jazz saxophonist Maarten Hogenhuis, drummer Nicky Hustinx, and a dedicated string section.
