Fat Dog sound exhausted, cancelled and still impossible to keep off the floor

Fat Dog’s Cancel Me (I’m Tired) announcement rolls into 1 July with the energy of a band that might be exhausted but has no intention of becoming quiet. The London dance-rockers follow 2024 debut WOOF with a new Domino album due 2 October, and the title track arrives just as the band are opening stadium dates for Foo Fighters in Europe. The song is described as a throbbing, funky groove explosion with vocals verging on butt-rock and a title that fully understands how ridiculous pop-cultural outrage has become. That ridiculousness is part of Fat Dog’s appeal. They are a live-band pressure system first and a discourse object second, which is probably the healthier order. Cancel Me (I’m Tired) sounds like indie sleaze after too much caffeine, too many notifications and one more chorus that refuses to sit down.
