20 July 2026 – Film Major Join ‘The Board’

<a href="/tags/film-major">Film Major</a> return with 'The Board', a fuzzy lo-fi indie-rock track that turns financial temptation and modern distrust into something scruffy, melodic and suspiciously catchy. The project is one of several creative outlets operated by Queens musician <a href="/tags/james-palko">James Palko</a>, whose overlapping bands and aliases suggest sleep has become an optional administrative task.

'The Board' draws from nineties indie pop, power pop and grunge, with distorted guitars supporting lyrics about the promise of a sound investment and the uncomfortable suspicion that somebody is preparing to disappear with the money.

It captures a particularly current anxiety: everyone appears to be selling opportunity, optimisation or a course explaining how to sell opportunity. Film Major answer with a short, rough-edged song that sounds as though it was recorded before the sales presentation had finished loading.
