Australian alt-pop artist GOODFRND releases "Sit Down" today alongside a new video, previewing six-track EP Does Today Really Have To Happen, scheduled for November 26. The song combines crunchy guitars, glossy synthesizers and large pop-rock drums with lyrics examining the exhausting business of deciding who deserves the blame after a relationship falls apart within contemporary indie pop.

GOODFRND approaches the subject with more honesty than diplomacy, admitting that the track contains some deliberate criticism alongside an attempt to accept his own mistakes. The accompanying video follows him dancing through Melbourne streets in a sequence inspired by coming-of-age films. Shot during a single afternoon by longtime collaborator Liam of Teel Studios, the clip embraces the slightly ridiculous experience of performing in public while strangers continue going about their business.

"Sit Down" follows earlier single "Landing," which received support from triple j Unearthed and Australian commercial radio. Both tracks were developed with producer Agnus Beats, whose credits include work with The Kid Laroi. The forthcoming EP explores a difficult personal period across six songs, combining emotionally uncomfortable material with deliberately accessible melodies and infectious hooks.
