Gwenno brings Utopia-era Welsh psych-pop to Norwich Arts Centre

Gwenno plays Norwich Arts Centre on 11 May, with Patricia Morgan also on the bill. Gwenno Saunders has built one of the most distinctive catalogues in British independent music, moving from her past in The Pipettes into solo work that blends psych-pop, electronic textures, and politics.

Her 2025 album Utopia, released on Heavenly Recordings, continues that wider project of turning cultural identity and speculative imagination into pop music. The Norwich show is notable because Gwenno’s work is about language worlds, regional histories, and future visions.

Patricia Morgan’s presence adds another layer, connecting the evening to Welsh experimental lineage through her history with Datblygu.
