Hackensaw Boys knock the knuckles live in Maastricht and let the strings sweat

Hackensaw Boys’ Knock of the Knuckles arrives on 27 June through Milkcow Records, and the release has exactly the kind of live-wire setting that suits them: recorded at Muziekgieterij in Maastricht on 17 October 2025. The lineup includes vocals, guitar, fiddle, upright bass, charismo, banjo, mandolin, melodica and harmonies, which already sounds like a small acoustic machine built to rattle floorboards. The Bandcamp tags stretch from bluegrass and garage rock to grunge, psych, punk rock and plain rock, and that hybrid looseness is the point. The Hackensaw Boys have always made roots music feel like it escaped the porch and discovered electricity by accident. A live album lets that energy stay messy in the best possible way: strings sweating, voices pushing, rhythm kicking dust into the lights and the crowd somewhere close enough to matter.
