Vancouver noise-pop band Hillsboro have announced a new three-track EP titled this is me if i was you, scheduled for November 13 through their own imprint play dead. The announcement arrives alongside lead single "My God", an emotionally charged examination of breakup grief and identity reconstruction.
The five-piece features vocalist/guitarist Nima Walker, violinist Dexter Hodgins, guitarist Sam Wells, drummer Oliver Hollingshead, and bassist Layten Kramer. Recorded at The Hive in Victoria, British Columbia with producer Colin Stewart, the music unites emo catharsis, folk fragility, and abrasive distortion.
Walker explains that "My God" examines the disorientation of unravelling old relationships to discover oneself anew. The EP also features "Don't (wait)" and "The sky reminds me of you now, pt. 2" featuring mieke?.
Having debuted in 2020 with Car Sex followed by 2023's self-titled LP, Hillsboro will make their New York debut at New Colossus Festival in March 2027. Read more noise-pop coverage in our news archive.
