The band draw from early-nineties indie rock, Scottish twee and the charmingly untidy guitar tradition in which songs sound carefully written but only partially interested in sitting up straight. 'Made' moves with warmth and an ornate, slightly drawling quality that suggests Homework have done plenty of musical studying even if the band name creates immediate flashbacks to unfinished mathematics.
The twelve-track album arrives in September following two earlier EPs and gives the group space to expand their conversational melodies into a more complete statement. 'Bang Here If Stuck' is also an excellent instruction for both creative work and old vending machines, although results in either case may vary.
