15 July 2026 – Index Become Fearsome On ‘Fractured’

<a href="/tags/index">Index</a> have announced their debut album ‘Vis Inertiae’, due on 25 September, and shared the new single ‘Fractured’. The duo brings together former Control Top members Alan Creedon and Alex Lichtenauer, who began exchanging <a href="/genres/electronic">electronic</a> punk demos while living on opposite sides of the United States.

The project combines conventional drums with <a href="/genres/electronic">electronic</a> percussion, industrial texture, punk urgency and flashes of nü-metal weight. Producer Arthur Rizk encouraged the band to push those heavier and stranger instincts forward, resulting in a record that sounds designed to make small rooms feel structurally uncertain. ‘Fractured’ is jittery, aggressive and rhythmically sharp, following the earlier single ‘Cellophane’.

The album title draws from a philosophical idea connected to inertia, but the music itself does not appear interested in remaining still for even several seconds. <a href="/tags/index">Index</a> will introduce the material through shows in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Toronto and Philadelphia. It is always disappointing when a beloved band falls silent, but slightly less so when its members return carrying <a href="/genres/electronic">electronic</a> drums and a fresh willingness to damage the walls.
