The Croxton Block Party returns to Melbourne on 17 and 18 October with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard curating another adventurous celebration of psychedelic rock, punk and electronic experimentation. The band will headline both days with separate three-hour performances, because an ordinary ninety-minute set would apparently leave too much unused weekend. Saturday’s bill includes Japanese pop-punk favourites Shonen Knife, Babe Rainbow, Heavy Moss, Moktar and a special Eurorack performance from Stu Mackenzie.
Sunday shifts toward the heavier and stranger with C.O.F.F.I.N., Gut Health, ORB and additional local acts. One dollar from every ticket will support biodiversity restoration on Tasmania’s Lungtalanana Island. The event combines marathon music, independent culture and environmental action inside a car park that will temporarily become more creatively productive than several major entertainment companies.
