31 July 2026 – Lucia & The Best Boys Begin ‘Picking Petals’

Lucia & The Best Boys release their second album 'Picking Petals', an ambitious collection rooted in Lucia Fairfull’s Scottish upbringing and Glasgow creative community. The record expands the band’s dramatic alternative pop through larger arrangements, theatrical vocals and guest appearances from Lauren Mayberry and Abigail Morris.

'Big Romance' brings baroque-pop grandeur to a subject already carrying unreasonable expectations, while the wider album explores longing, uncertainty and the stories people invent while waiting for somebody else to provide a clear answer. Picking petals remains a charming but scientifically weak method of relationship research. Fairfull uses the image to capture the mixture of playfulness and desperation involved in asking the same question repeatedly. The album sounds designed for large stages, although its emotional doubts remain close enough to whisper directly into the microphone.
