Maverick Mom make a major debut with Travessia

Japanese four-piece Maverick Mom released Travessia on 13 May, marking their major debut first full album through Victor Entertainment. Travessia means road, life or crossing in Portuguese, and the title fits the story around the band: this is a record framed as a new departure and a statement about walking through life with music.

The CD edition includes two discs, with the first built around thirteen new songs and the second collecting re-recorded and early indie material, including songs from their first EP ENERGY and the first recorded version of live fan favourite Super Face. That structure makes Travessia more than a debut for new listeners.

It is also a bridge between the band’s independent past and their wider national future.
