Mynolia signs to Full Time Hobby and runs straight at authority

Mynolia’s Run Like Hell arrives on 30 June with a label-signing glow and a useful bite. The folk singer-songwriter has joined Full Time Hobby, and the new track expands her sound into what The Line of Best Fit frames as mystic folk, helped by co-producer and ambient-jazz instrumentalist Rich Ruth. The supporting cast matters here: Michael Parks Jr. of All Them Witches on bass, Spencer Cullum on pedal steel, drums and percussion from Pete Pételle and Florian Holoubek, horns from Corin Droullard, flute from Sam Que, violin and mandolin from Patrick McGonigle, and backing vocals from Taylor Wafford. But the centre is the song’s cheeky challenge to power. Run Like Hell is not protest music as stiff lecture. It is a wink, a shove and a reminder that rebel energy can arrive wearing folk textures, horns, flute and a very steady eye.
