Oltrefuturo draw Adriatic movements in dub, downtempo and salt air

Oltrefuturo’s Figure Del Flusso (Movimenti Adriatici) arrives on 15 June like a map drawn by someone listening to waves instead of coordinates. Released through Macadam Mambo as a 2xLP, the project is tagged around ambient, Balearic, dub, leftfield and downtempo, which already suggests music that moves with tide rather than impact. The subtitle, Movimenti Adriatici, gives it a regional and almost cinematic frame: Adriatic motion, coastal atmosphere, old rhythms passing through modern electronics. This is not peak-hour club music, and that is a strength. It sounds like a record for transitional hours: travel, heat, open windows, the stretch between night and morning when rhythm becomes landscape. Oltrefuturo appear to understand that electronic music does not always need to attack. Sometimes it can drift, turn, shimmer and still take you somewhere very specific.
