Rock outfit Palaye Royale have announced sixth studio album Amsterdamage for January 22, 2027, with "Lost In Translation" opening the campaign today. The record carries considerably more personal weight than a routine album-cycle restart. Brothers Remington Leith, Sebastian Danzig and Emerson Barrett created it in the aftermath of the 2024 death of their mother Stephanie Rachel, whom they describe as their greatest champion.

Emerson has said the album became the creative bond that pulled the brothers back together when grief might otherwise have sent them along separate paths. Written through 2025 while the band continued touring, Amsterdamage developed in locations including San Diego and the Netherlands before being completed at Chris Greatti's Los Angeles studio. "Lost In Translation" deliberately reaches back toward mid-2000s British rock, but it is designed for movement rather than mourning, with Remington describing it as something intended to become explosive live.

The 12-track album follows 2024's Death or Glory and extends a catalogue that has always treated alt-rock music, fashion and visual identity as interconnected parts of the same project. Grief records can become oppressively inward-looking. Palaye Royale appear to have taken another route: turning loss into the reason to remain a band.
