Sansarin drag Dutch grunge back into the room with Breakdown

Sansarin’s Breakdown may not be a brand-new 2 June release, but it belongs in today’s conversation because good underground rock does not expire after the first algorithmic push. The Dutch band’s single lands with the familiar ingredients that make grunge and hard rock still feel alive when done honestly: tension, distortion, frustration and the sense that something inside the song is trying to kick its way through the wall. At just under three minutes, Breakdown does not overstay its welcome. It gets in, delivers the damage and leaves enough smoke behind to make you want another track. What makes Sansarin interesting is the Dutch angle too. Grunge is often discussed through Seattle nostalgia, but its emotional language travels well: alienation, heaviness, sharp hooks and that dirty melodic edge between collapse and release. Breakdown taps into that lineage without needing to pretend it is 1993 again. It sounds like a band testing how much weight a short rock song can still carry.
