British industrial project SATØRI has announced "Your Life Is Worth Nothing", an eleven-track album arriving October 2 through Cold Spring. The title is unlikely to be adopted by many wellness retreats, but it accurately advertises the record's harsher terrain: industrial noise, power electronics, heavy beats, hostile vocals and dark electronics. Dave Kirby recorded and mixed the album at Digitalis in Somerset during 2025 and 2026, with Martin Bowes mastering at The Cage Studios and Abby Helasdottir providing the artwork.
Tracks include "Last Rites", "Perverseverence" and "Don't Bend: Break", titles that collectively suggest this will not be ideal background music for a quiet brunch. SATØRI's history stretches back to the 1980s, beginning with Kirby and Robert Maycock recording as Psychopath before adopting the Satori name in 1987. After periods of collaboration, dissolution and revival, Kirby resumed the project alone in 2014 and eventually adopted the SATØRI spelling.
"Your Life Is Worth Nothing" becomes Cold Spring's third album under that version of the project following "The Woods" in 2023 and "Pillars Of Salt" in 2025. An album-launch show is scheduled for October 3 at The Globe in Glossop. More than forty years after the project's earliest beginnings, SATØRI remains admirably uninterested in becoming pleasant. Some musical traditions mellow with age. Industrial noise apparently prefers to sharpen the furniture.
