Seth Eastman keeps Parse stripped down and handmade

Seth Eastman’s Parse lands on 13 June with a simple acoustic tag and a refreshingly direct set of credits: written, recorded and produced by Eastman, with help from Josh Brown on drums and a few other things. That kind of small-scale release can be easy to overlook in a day full of big review cycles and strange electronic projects, but it is also where independent songwriting often lives most honestly. Parse suggests a track focused on texture, performance and the small decisions that make acoustic music feel human. There is no giant narrative pasted on top, no invented mythology demanding attention before the song has earned it. Instead, the appeal is modest and practical: an Austin musician making something by hand, shaping it with a collaborator, and putting it into the world. Sometimes that is enough.
