13 October 2026 – Sombr Performs With Lindsey Buckingham and Reimagines Homewrecker With Nickel Creek

Rising alternative-pop artist Sombr has enjoyed an eventful weekend in Los Angeles, combining a surprise live collaboration with Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham and a newly released reinterpretation of his single "Homewrecker". During Saturday's performance at the Kia Forum, Buckingham joined the young musician for a rendition of Fleetwood Mac's classic "Go Your Own Way".

The appearance followed several months of public admiration from Buckingham, who previously praised Sombr's songwriting and presented him with a Songwriter of the Year award at a Variety event in August. The collaboration therefore represented the continuation of an established musical connection rather than an entirely unexpected encounter.

Earlier the same day, Sombr released "Homewrecker (Reimagined Live From Sound City)", a new arrangement recorded at the legendary Los Angeles studio. The performance features progressive bluegrass trio Nickel Creek alongside keyboardist Benny Bock and bassist Sebastian Steinberg. The recording replaces some of the original song's contemporary production characteristics with a more organic instrumental approach, demonstrating how effectively alternative-pop songwriting can translate across musical styles.

Nickel Creek's involvement is particularly interesting because their sophisticated acoustic arrangements occupy a very different creative environment from the glossy electronic textures associated with much modern pop. Sombr's growing reputation has attracted attention from established musicians who recognise familiar songwriting qualities beneath contemporary presentation.
