Steve Lacy floats back into frame with The Feeling

The interesting thing about Lacy in 2026 is that he now has to balance huge mainstream recognition with the strange, intimate charm that made his earlier work connect in the first place. The Feeling suggests he is not rushing to flatten himself into easy pop product. He still seems interested in mood, texture and visual weirdness. That is good news. The best version of Steve Lacy is not the safest one. It is the one slightly out of reach.
