Scottish indie rock veterans <a href="/tags/teenage-fanclub">Teenage Fanclub</a> announce their thirteenth album ‘Do Not Dare To Dream’ and share the sunlit lead single ‘Day In The Sun’. Recorded at Black Bay Studios on the remote Isle of Great Bernera, the album surrounds the band with sea, ancient ruins, synthesisers and a church organ. That is considerably more dramatic than recording beside an industrial estate while somebody reverses a delivery van.
‘Day In The Sun’ examines renewal and shifting perspective, balancing the group’s familiar melodic warmth with the grounded realism behind the album title. Rather than promising that everyone can achieve anything by simply believing harder, Teenage Fanclub acknowledge uncertainty while remaining stubbornly optimistic.
