The wonderfully unpredictable creative bond between psychedelic-rock experimentation and mainstream pop produced another unforgettable spectacle when Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne joined Miley Cyrus during her headline performance at the Hollywood Bowl. Reports confirmed that Coyne emerged on an intimate satellite stage in the center of the audience, harmonizing with Cyrus on The Flaming Lips' timeless anthem "Do You Realize??" alongside Cyrus' own psychedelic ballad "Karen Don't Be Sad".
The appearance revived an inventive partnership that originally made headlines with Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz, proving that eccentric sonic arrangements and pop sensibility could coexist fruitfully. The Hollywood Bowl engagement marked Cyrus' first full-scale concert in almost four years, celebrating her recent album Bass Persuades. Throughout the evening, Cyrus shared candid thoughts on striking a healthier lifestyle balance between public touring and private contentment.
Her fiancé Maxx Morando took to the drum kit during the high-energy encore, adding to the evening's celebratory family atmosphere. Particularly captivating for alternative-music fans was Cyrus' disclosure that witnessing French electronic legends Air perform at the Hollywood Bowl in September 2025 directly sparked her renewed creative hunger and led to her return to the recording studio.
