The Mountain Goats release Days on Friday through their own Cadmean Dawn Records & Tapes in indie rock.
John Darnielle initially imagined the album as Grunges, a companion to 2017’s Goths, before the songs evolved into reflections on accumulated memories from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. Some recollections become clearer with distance while others dissolve into uncomfortable shapes.
The largely major-key collection was produced by John Congleton at Manhattan’s Sear Sound and includes lead single 'Charlie Sheen Reaches Out to the Feds'.
