Tokyo experimental musician Yuko Araki has announced V, her latest studio album, scheduled for January 22, 2027, through American Dreams. The announcement is accompanied by "Decoded Void", a new single that explores the increasingly blurred boundary between noise music and structured electronic composition.

The album developed during extensive touring across Britain, Europe, Indonesia and China, allowing Araki to incorporate ideas gathered from several different musical environments. Its eight compositions build upon the experimental approaches established through earlier releases IV and Zenjitsutan while introducing darker industrial textures and rhythms influenced by contemporary club music.

"Decoded Void" originated from musical ideas Araki developed while supporting experimental metal group SUMAC in Tokyo during 2025. The accompanying video was created by longtime collaborator Jackson Kaki, using dark computer-generated imagery inspired by Japanese artistic and literary traditions. Araki has explained that she is particularly interested in exploring the point at which noise begins functioning as music, challenging listeners to reconsider the distinction between chaotic sound and deliberate composition.

The album includes "Freaquencies", "Mirror Messiah", "Hell and Death", "Altered Flesh" and "Guttural Shrapnel". Upcoming performances include concerts in Tokyo followed by British and European dates during spring 2027. V represents another intriguing development within independent experimental electronic music. Araki's approach demonstrates that abrasive sound can become an expressive musical language rather than simply an exercise in volume.
