John Douglas, guitarist and vocalist with beloved Scottish indie-pop group Trashcan Sinatras, has died following a brief illness. He was 63.
Douglas helped form the band in Irvine in 1986 and contributed to every one of its studio albums, beginning with the 1990 debut Cake. The news arrives only days after Trashcan Sinatras issued Ever the Optimist, their first new full-length record in a decade.
