<a href="/tags/tricky">Tricky</a> returns under his own name with 'Different When It's Silent', his first official solo album in six years. During that gap he continued making music through aliases and collaborative projects, but these recordings were apparently too recognisably Tricky to remain disguised.

The album rebuilds blues, punk, hip-hop and electronic music inside the sparse, shadowy atmosphere that has defined his most important work. Voices appear like figures at the edge of a room, beats arrive with damaged edges and silence becomes an active instrument rather than unused space.
