New Orleans alternative-folk and punk group Twisted Teens are preparing to release The Holy Cross Tigers on November 6 through Sub Pop, with the album featured in Tinnitist's November release preview. The project represents the group's third studio album of 2026, following Blame the Clown in January and Florida Water Blues in July.

Led by Caspian Halliwell and RJ Santos, Twisted Teens combine folk traditions, country influences, punk-rock energy and deliberately unconventional recording techniques. Their music frequently embraces imperfect performances and spontaneous arrangements, allowing personality to remain central to the finished recordings. The Holy Cross Tigers contains thirteen compositions, including "Stalks", "When We First Met", "Blue Rose", "Lock and Key" and "Darker the Night Is the Brighter I See".

Earlier single "When We First Met" introduced the album through a short and energetic exploration of lost love, accompanied by an entertaining medieval-themed music video. Another preview, "Stalks", arrived with a video featuring deliberately absurd costumes constructed from discarded materials. The album marks an important development following the group's signing to Sub Pop, the influential independent label associated with numerous alternative-rock performers.

Twisted Teens are also preparing an extensive touring schedule, including American performances with Kurt Vile and the Violators and Australian concerts during December. Their unusually productive release schedule demonstrates that independent musicians can continue operating outside conventional album-cycle expectations even while developing relationships with established labels. Three albums in one calendar year is an impressive achievement, particularly when most musicians require several months simply to agree upon the final artwork. Apparently Twisted Teens have discovered that recording songs is considerably easier when nobody insists on turning every release into a two-year marketing campaign.
