Northern Irish indie-rock favourites Two Door Cinema Club have announced fourteen American concerts for May 2027, celebrating their influential debut album Tourist History with complete live performances of the record. The tour follows a particularly successful period of North American appearances and provides another opportunity for audiences to revisit the music that established the group's international reputation.
Released in 2010, Tourist History helped define the energetic guitar-pop sound associated with the early 2010s indie-rock revival. Its combination of angular guitar arrangements, danceable rhythms and memorable melodies introduced the band to audiences well beyond their original Northern Irish following. The forthcoming American tour begins May 6 at Chicago's Riviera Theatre before continuing through Milwaukee and Saint Paul.
A major performance is scheduled for May 11 at Colorado's Red Rocks Amphitheatre, one of America's most recognisable outdoor concert venues. The itinerary also includes an appearance at Utah's Kilby Block Party before moving through the Pacific Northwest and California. Three Texas performances will conclude the tour. British indie-dance group Friendly Fires will join the programme, creating a particularly appropriate pairing for listeners who remember the period when guitar bands and electronic dance music frequently occupied the same festival stages.
The announcement demonstrates the continuing commercial and cultural appeal of albums that helped shape a particular musical generation. Anniversary tours can sometimes become predictable exercises in nostalgia, but Tourist History remains closely associated with the energetic live performances that established Two Door Cinema Club's reputation. Apparently sixteen years after its original arrival, the album is still perfectly capable of persuading audiences that standing still during a concert is entirely unnecessary.
