Prolific guitarist and composer Wendy Eisenberg has surprise-released Wweennddyy Eeiisseennbbeerrgg, an expansive companion project that reinterprets two compositions from their recent self-titled album into immersive, extended improvisations. Opening track "Meaning Business" stretches across thirty-seven hypnotic minutes, while companion piece "The Walls" spans nearly ten, creating an LP-length experience from just two titles.
Recorded with an extraordinary ensemble featuring bassist Trevor Dunn (Mr. Bungle), percussionist Ryan Sawyer, and violinist Mari Rubio (known widely as more eaze), the quartet explores every corner of harmonic and rhythmic possibility. Blurring the boundaries between avant-garde jazz, noise rock, and American primitive guitar, the performances treat the original compositions as launchpads for spontaneous collective discovery.
The surprise release coincides with the recent announcement of Whait, Eisenberg and Rubio’s collaborative experimental pop project on Night School Records, demonstrating Eisenberg's unstoppable creative output.
For listeners who appreciate fearless improvisational music, Wweennddyy Eeiisseennbbeerrgg is an inspiring exercise in sonic patience and imagination. Explore further adventurous sounds in our experimental catalog.
