horsegiirL gives Wet Leg’s CPR a high-octane barn-rave shock treatment

Wet Leg’s CPR gets a horsegiirL remix on 25 June, and the words high octane are doing useful work here. The new version will appear on moisturizer (deluxe), following The Dare’s reimagining of mangetout and FDC DJs’ version of catch these fists. horsegiirL adds a new verse and pushes CPR toward a more frantic club shape, which makes sense in the strange Wet Leg ecosystem. The band’s songs have always understood deadpan awkwardness, but remix culture lets that awkwardness become physical in a new way. CPR already had the title of an emergency procedure; horsegiirL now seems to turn it into something closer to a panic dance under flashing lights. The deluxe edition will also include unreleased songs and live recordings, but this remix is the one that sounds like it kicked the stable door open and ran straight for the subs.
