Wild Pink announce Still Coming Down with MJ Lenderman and Hand Habits involved

Wild Pink announced Still Coming Down, due 21 August via Fire Talk, and shared Round of Applause at the End of the World, giving the 28 May digest a strong American indie-rock news item. The album features contributions from MJ Lenderman, Meg Duffy of Hand Habits, and members of Lenderman’s band The Wind.

That guest list immediately places the record in a warm, guitar-forward corner of current indie where country-rock, heartland atmosphere, fuzz, sincerity and dry humor can coexist. Frontman John Ross recorded the album in one week with producer Alex Farrar at Drop of Sun Studios in Asheville, a much shorter process than the longer trips behind Wild Pink’s previous record.

That speed may be important. Ross has described finding his voice on this record, and the lead single reportedly looks at paranoia, misinformation and apprehension draining the joy from life.
