Yehra turn Inner Feelings into Toronto-Copenhagen adult-alternative velvet

Yehra’s Inner Feelings arrives on 19 June from XIV with a transatlantic passport already stamped into the credits. Written by Jennifer Mahon and Rasmus Liebst, produced by Liebst, recorded between Copenhagen and Toronto, and mixed and mastered with serious polish, the track sits in the lane of adult alternative pop, adult contemporary, indie pop and indie soul. That combination can be dangerous if it becomes too tasteful, but Yehra’s charm lies in treating smoothness like a mood rather than a crime. The duo’s own description as a transatlantic anomaly fits the sound: warm vocals, sleek production, emotional understatement and the sense that feeling does not always need to arrive yelling.
