British electronic singer Aluna has released "Moaning," a new collaboration with Dutch producer Jengi that explores pleasure, exhaustion and the complicated relationship between personal identity and contemporary working life. Aluna first achieved international recognition as part of AlunaGeorge before developing a successful solo career that includes the 2023 album MYCELiUM. Recent singles "Houseboy" and "Misbehave" have continued her exploration of house music and electronic dance, while "Moaning" introduces another confident dancefloor arrangement.

The song is accompanied by a video directed by Gracie Bellissimo. Aluna explains that the track emerged partly from her experience of becoming a mother while continuing to balance parenting and professional responsibilities. Eventually, the constant demands of work and family life encouraged her to reconsider how much space remained for personal enjoyment.

"Moaning" transforms that reflection into a dance record that is simultaneously playful and surprisingly thoughtful. Jengi's production provides the rhythmic foundation, allowing Aluna's distinctive vocals to carry the song's emotional perspective. The collaboration also highlights the continuing international influence of Dutch electronic producers. "Moaning" suggests that reclaiming pleasure does not necessarily require an elaborate personal transformation; sometimes a good bassline represents an entirely respectable beginning.
