Black Bananas return after twelve years with Bad Bunch energy still intact

Black Bananas announcing their first album in twelve years feels less like a comeback and more like a warning siren from a stylishly damaged garage. Led by Jennifer Herrema, the project has always carried a certain outlaw glamour: rock music with dirt under the nails, strange electronics in the bloodstream and enough attitude to make clean genre labels feel useless. Bad Bunch will arrive through Fire Records later in 2026, marking the group’s first full-length since Electric Brick Wall in 2014. That long gap matters, but it should not be mistaken for dormancy. Herrema’s world has continued through collaborations, radio experiments, performances and the broader Royal Trux mythology that still casts a long shadow over underground rock. The exciting thing about Bad Bunch is not simply that Black Bananas are back. It is that their kind of unruly, suspiciously glamorous rock energy still feels necessary.
