Cleveland indie rock and post-hardcore torchbearers Cloud Nothings have revealed their upcoming album, What Kind of Hell Did You Survive?, scheduled for January 29, 2027, via Pure Noise Records. Lead preview "Death Keeps Me Alive" signals one of the heaviest stylistic pivots in Dylan Baldi's catalog, blending melodic sensibility with crushing, metallic guitar weight.
Propelled by drummer Jayson Gerycz’s furious, technically relentless percussion, the track oscillates between menacing, dissonant verses and an explosive, shout-along chorus. The nine-track LP follows 2024's Final Summer and boasts menacing track titles such as "World Destroyer", "Terror Multiplies", and "Part of Something More", reflecting existential tension and sonic catharsis.
A stark black-and-white music video directed by longtime visual collaborators accompanies the single, capturing the claustrophobic intensity of the band's rehearsal space. Cloud Nothings will support the announcement with a European club run in November, offering fans an early preview before the full record lands in January.
Throughout their storied career, Cloud Nothings have repeatedly proven that melodic songwriting and abrasive punishment need not be mutually exclusive. Discover more uncompromising releases in our punk archive and check out recent guitar announcements.
