Jez Williams, founding guitarist and multi-instrumentalist of landmark British alternative-rock band Doves, has announced his debut solo album, Life of Me and You, scheduled for release on February 26, 2027. The project arrives hot on the heels of Doves' celebrated 2025 LP Constellations for the Lonely.
Williams launched the solo campaign with lead single "Hollow Man", an incisive commentary on algorithmic fatigue, 24-hour notifications, and digital dissociation. In contrast to Doves' sweeping cinematic orchestrations, "Hollow Man" punches forward with muscular hard-rock riffs and an explosive, stadium-sized chorus.
The ten-track record was written, recorded, and produced entirely by Williams across his home studio setups in Cheshire and Manchester. The tracklist includes standout pieces such as "Hurt Proof", "J.U.M.P", "Misses Jones", "Walk Alone", "Remember Where You Came From", and "Magnificent Morning".
While Williams retains his signature atmospheric guitar craft, the solo format allows him to embrace direct, visceral energy and explore raw vocal performances. Read more reviews and stories in our indie rock portal and browse our full music news.
